"I'm Melissa Mahon, widely known as DJ Double M. I've been playing music since the age of 13. My love of music has always been potent and having my father (Dynamic Sounds) as a DJ, has just strengthened that enthusiasm.

I am very honoured to promote my culture and background as a female DJ and to be one of the youngest and biggest DJs at Notting Hill Carnival.

​

Over the years, I have played music at Notting Hill Carnival, parties, weddings and other events including Chutney Soca Boat Party, an event my father organises and hosts. I also coordinate events that Dynamic Sounds hosts such as the Trini Park Lime.

I am pleased to be apart of Dynamic Mas band, where I not only DJ but also assist in designing costumes and serve as deputy band leader alongside my father."

"As a costume designer for over 5 years, I've had the pleasure of designing some incredible costumes for Dynamic Mas. I've been going to Notting Hill Carnival since I was a child and enjoyed participating in the family mas band. I loved celebrating my Trinidadian culture as a child and now having children of my own, I bring them to Carnival Children's day to embrace and experience the same feeling I had as a child.

My interest in arts and crafts as a child stemmed from my passion for creating things, and I eventually found a love for fashion design. I find inspiration in everyday objects and strive to bring unique, creative ideas to life in my designs.
